1 Month to go – #i52tf2

July 22nd Announcement
Tagged: i52

Hildreth – In 4 weeks and 3 days time, on Friday the 22nd August in the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, England the eyes of the TF2 world will be focused on the Insomnia 52 LAN event, the UK’s biggest gaming festival and by extension, TF2′s most coveted prize. The days of top European sides in attendance with multitudes of community teams from UK and mainland Europe are still here, but thanks to some hard work and generous donations for the third summer running, we will have not one, not two but THREE teams from different continents attending this event. North American pride is hurt after Epsilon’s victory last year at i49, so ESEA LAN winners Froyotech and i46 champions Classic Mixup have been sponsored by a HUGE community fundraiser raising over $14,000 to fly in these superstars to compete with the likes of Epsilon and Awsomniac (EU’s top 2 sides). And to add punch into the fruit bowl, it wouldn’t be a true “World Championship” without the attendance of the Australians, Team Immunity who surprised many including myself, finishing 4th in a tournament where they had beaten the 3rd and 2nd placed sides.

All in all this promises to be a truly memorable event and to celebrate the fact we have 1 month leading up, I will be a running a rather long winded, social media campaign, using the hashtag #i52tf2 to raise hype by releasing a series of articles leading up to the event. Not all will be directly related to i52, but they will all be TF2 related and hopefully an interesting read.

So for now sit back and countdown, we have only got 31 days to go!

June 21st News

“By the pricking of my thumb,

Something wicked this way comes” – William Shakespeare, MacBeth

Gentleman Jon — In what will be the last article of this kind because TF2 is now dead I’m taking a quick look at the immediate impact of the new sticky damage ramp up effect on the EU TF2 rules set. It’s only been a few days but there are some trends appearing on the pickup site logs. The data runs from the 18th to today (20th) from the tf2pickup site logs. This makes a good representation of the great unwashed proletariat TF2 competitive scene that applies to the most players, as opposed to the Olympian heights of the Premiership mix.

ETF2L Season 18 Week 2 Premiership Lazy Pandas vs BFF – VanillaTV

May 22nd Announcement

Byte — Tonight BFF will play their first official in Season 18, due to rockit wildcarding week 1. The roster looks weird but also talented and experienced. With the likes of kaidus and Zebbosai dictating the game play and quality with Mirelin and Stark adding more +xp bonus to the team, all eyes will be on fl1p (I coming :3) and Knutsson.

Question is, will they be able to bridge the gap of being or playing for top 4 in ETF2L compared to the other members in the team.

Lazy pandas on the other hand have nothing to lose going into this, the fact that they are competing in prem should give them a hope and try attitude. With them already playing their week 1 official vs 4-25 and losing badlands 5-0 and narrowly losing gullywash 4-3, they’ll be looking to steal some points off BFF.

Having the experienced zoob and Hildreth may not be enough to dent or leave a bad taste with BFF.

Byte — Second week into the ETF2L Season 18 and it looks to be an exciting match between these two teams. Very contrasting in terms of team semantics. With rockit forming very late before signs up closed, that cheeky Irishman Admirable decided to tally along and be the veteran medic and guide his team to the playoffs.

rockit are yet to play any games, after they wildcarded their week 1 game versus BFF, playing their debut game as a team in prem tonight should set up the scene very well against the russians.

GGWP.pro who have already played and lost 6-0 against arguably the hardest team in prem this season Epsilon E-sports. While they know it was a long shot to win, I’m sure some of them will be glad they got this game out of the way so the team can build momentum.

Key players to look out for GGWP.pro will be Forsak3n and ShaDoWBurn pairing, after hitler Forsak3n learning after me, and kicked msh, he had a few words to say about how he feels going into this match.

“we have no msh, its going to be hard”
